​Our expanding Credit and Underwriting Team are looking to recruit an experienced Credit Policy and Review Manager to further strengthen an outstanding team. A new role within the Bank, reporting into the Director of Credit & Underwriting, you will be responsible for the Lending & Credit Policies of the Bank, ensuring they are appropriately drafted and maintained, are aligned to the Bank’s risk appetite and strategy, and are being adhered to.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Owning the Lending and Credit Policy, ensuring any proposed, approved, changes are documented correctly and taken through appropriate Governance.

  • Reviewing the existing lending books and providing recommendations to Credit Committee and EXCO to review and change Credit policies, as appropriate, to align to economic risk factors and competitive market conditions

  • Supporting the Director of Credit and Underwriting/ Head of Credit and Underwriting in undertaking regular oversights of the delegated authority approvals by Underwriters, to ensure the policies are being applied appropriately.

  • Assessing the outputs from portfolio reviews, considering in accordance with the Bank’s credit risk appetite and contributing to the Bank’s strategic consideration of existing and potential new loan products.

  • Oversighting of Credit underlying data and producing lending MI packs and other credit MI.


The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Credit Risk within financial services, including experience in writing, maintaining, and implementing new policies and strategies within Credit, and proven experience of credit underwriting and oversight. It is essential that they have experience in secured property lending and would also be an advantage to have invoice/asset based and unsecured business lending experience.
