Libra Appoints General Counsel

The Libra Association has hired Robert Werner has as General Counsel. He will join his old boss Stuart Levey at the firm. Prior to Libra, Werner worked at the US Treasury and HSBC with Levey. At HSBC, Werner was Global Head of Financial Crime in London. He previously held similar positions at Goldman Sachs.

During his time at the US Treasury Werner was Senior Counselor to the Under Secretary, Terrorism and Financial Interlligence.

Werner was quoted as saying “I am grateful for the opportunity to join the Libra Association as we work to transform the global payments landscape to empower billions of people,”
