Twitter Inc has appointed Jim Baker as Deputy General Counsel. Baker formerly served as general counsel at the Federal Bureau of Investigation for four years. He left the FBI in January 2018.
Baker has also held various roles at the Department of Justice. Including counsel for intelligence policy.
Twitter was recently in the media focus when President Donald Trump signed an executive order on social media companies. This followed the President's attack on the company for tagging some of his tweets with a warning that prompted users to fact-check the posts.
“Jim is committed to our core principles of an open internet and freedom of expression, and brings experience navigating complex, global issues with a principled approach,” Twitter General Counsel, Sean Edgett said in the tweet.
