Recruitment Consultant Job Description – Candidate


Rutherford Search is a specialist executive recruitment firm focusing on legal, compliance and financial crime searches for permanent and interim positions in the financial services sector in London. Our clients range from global investment managers, hedge funds, private equity firms and investment banks through to advisors, corporate & commercial banks, brokers, exchanges, MTFs and Fintech.

Job purpose

  • Build a personal brand and reputation with candidates within Financial Services.
  • Attract and place suitable candidates to meet client requirements in order to achieve revenue in line with company and personal targets.
  • Develop and manage candidate relationships, to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and quality standards aligning with the company values.



  • Candidate generation by a variety of methods – company database, referrals, adverts, job boards and social media.
  • To sell and explain the company’s methodology to candidates.
  • Assessing and responding to the needs of each particular client or assignment.
  • Conduct candidate interviews over the phone and in person.
  • Utilise the customised CRM to manage, update, record and document all conversations, candidate records and actions.
  • To work with the company’s candidate qualification form for profiling candidates ensuring that all relevant sections of a candidate’s digital profile are filled in correctly.
  • Drive client leads to senior team members through CV profiling, reference checking, candidate interviewing and questioning.
  • To support team members in their daily management of live vacancies whilst providing additional candidates to the wider team.
    CV formatting and preparation for admission to clients including candidate write ups.
  • Managing the candidate process from interview to offer stage and beyond
    Being a career advisor offering CV, interview and market information to candidates.
  • Networking to build business information that can be converted into commercial opportunities
    To uphold the company’s values and service to all external customers and contacts
  • To understand that you are joining a small company at an early stage, and have the
    flexibility, patience and diligence to perform to the best of your ability within the environment provided.
  • Adherence to the internal company policies to the best of your ability at all times e.g.
    phone and ICT usage, clothing policy, kitchen and health and safety guidelines.
  • Any other relevant ad-hoc duties as required by the wider team.
