Position Overview

As a Financial Restructuring Associate, you will play a crucial role in assisting the team in providing strategic advice and solutions to clients facing financial challenges or change. You will work on a variety of complex restructuring and insolvency matters, leveraging your technical excellence and commercial awareness to deliver exceptional results for clients across various sectors, including retail, real estate, and financial services.

  • ​Advise on complex domestic and cross-border insolvencies and financial restructurings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in transactional and advisory work, providing initial advice on structuring and implementation under the guidance of senior lawyers

  • Advise a wide range of clients with differing interests, ensuring tailored guidance for each scenario

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research to support various projects and client needs

  • Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing pitches, presentations, and attending events

  • Review finance documentation and analyse potential restructuring scenarios to protect or enhance clients' positions

  • Work closely with the leveraged finance team to ensure early engagement and maximise the prospect of a successful restructure

Requirements

  • 4-6 PQE with experience in high-end financial restructuring

  • Additional experience in finance, including private capital, private credit, special situations, and familiarity with PIKs, Prefs, Warrants, Converts and bespoke financing in stressed/distressed situations is preferred

  • Outstanding academic credentials and top-tier law firm experience

  • Ability to work autonomously without close supervision and hit the ground running
