Our Client
Our client is an emerging markets commodities and credit specialist. Headquartered in London, the client operates across Sub-Saharan Africa and the MENA region. The Firm focuses on emerging markets and covers credit strategies and trading of soft commodities (agri), food, oil and pharmaceuticals.
The Firm is looking for a senior lawyer (10-16 years PQE) with a transactional background (corporate or finance) to join the business development team in Dubai and assist with the transactional workload with an emerging markets’ focus in the following sectors: energy, water, agriculture and healthcare.
The individual will report to the Group General Counsel who is based in London and will be supported by the wider Firm's legal team.The Firm’s day-to-day deal flow can be both creative and complicated in nature. Transaction structures vary and need to account for the complexities of operating in emerging markets.Working closely with the CEO, you will be a key component of the business development team and be a part of the investment process, not just an advisory functionary.

Negotiating structures and deal documents
Working with external counsel on deal documents
Leading the execution of transactions
Responsibility for compliance matters
Your Profile
Skills/experience required
~10-16yrs’ PQE transactional lawyer.
Experience leading on structuring, negotiating and executing a wide range of corporate transactions (supply and services contracts, JV agreements etc) - from end-to-end.
Some in-house experience preferable, especially in a private credit fund or PE firm context.
Emerging Markets’ experience is desirable but not essential.
