Our Client
Rutherford has been mandated on an excellent opportunity for a Funds Lawyer to join a market-leading private equity fund based in London. The role will be sitting in the Legal and Compliance team and the candidate will act as the lead counsel in supporting the business in Real Estate funds investing and work closely with the deal and transaction teams across Europe.
Main Duties
Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Acting as first point of contact in EMEA for all legal and compliance matters for Real Estate Fund related matters
Preparing and updating memoranda focusing on any new EU regulations
Providing day-to-day support to fund accounting, tax and portfolio management teams in interpreting and applying limited partnership agreements, side letter contractual obligations and EU regulations relevant to the Real Estate funds
Provide input on compliance and operations
Identify and mitigate conflicts of interest in the business operations e.g. - allocation of investment opportunities and expenses, related party transactions, investor disclosures
Review and provide input on Real Estate policies and procedures
Conduct quarterly review and confirmation of compliance with limited partnership agreement and investor side letter obligations
Liaise with US and Luxembourg AML teams on AML reviews of prospective and existing investors
Your Profile
Minimum of 5 PQE is essential
Strong team player with a desire to contribute to a collaborative work environment
Exceptional ability to independently manage disparate workstreams
