Our Client
Rutherford have been mandated on an exciting opportunity by a private investment firm for a junior Legal Counsel to join their growing London team. The client is seeking a 0-3 PQE Legal Counsel with the remit of the role focusing on fund, transactional and regulatory related work.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting a wide range of internal and external facing legal matters across the firm, the appointee will cover several duties. These will include, but are not limited to:
Working on several strategic initiatives for the firm (growth initiatives, acquisitions, product development)
Providing legal advice on developments in European laws which will impact the firm's activities
Assisting with the legal research and preparation of internal memorandums on relevant activities
Preparing, reviewing and revising contracts
Taking part in general regulatory compliance activities
Providing assistance with the management, monitoring and improvement of processes in relation to the firm's regulatory and other filings
Assisting in the assessment of - as well as any responses to - the impact of new or upcoming European regulatory legislation on the business operations
Drafting and/or reviewing of legal documents and resolutions which support acquisitions, financing matters, corporate and tax restructuring, etc.
Providing assistance in the implementation of legal policies, processes and standards
Overseeing the maintenance and update of regulatory policies and procedures in Europe
Providing assistance with the European regulatory elements of fund formation and fundraising
Ongoing support of the provision and coordination of compliance in relation to global regulatory requirements
Assisting with corporate disclosure and compliance activities
Your Profile
Admitted as a solicitor - or the equivalent in another European jurisdiction
0 - 3 years PQE as a lawyer in regulatory and corporate law, ideally gained at a renowned law firm and/or within the in-house legal function of an asset manager
Educated to a degree level
