Our client, a leading quantitative hedge fund, is looking for a Trade Surveillance Analyst to join its London office. The role presents a fantastic opportunity to join a truly global organisation and gain exposure to a fast-paced and dynamic environment within the surveillance team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the timely analysis of alerts leading to the detection and prevention of market or firm damaging misconduct
Conducting daily analysis of automated surveillance alerts through SMART
Identify potential concerns and escalate to relevant stakeholders
Contribute to design and development of models to enhance surveillance coverage
Compile analysis into meaningful summaries and make findings available to relevant stakeholders, such as Legal and Compliance
Active involvement in enhancing current surveillance controls and developing new surveillance tools, reports and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a Russell Group university with a minimum of a 2:1 in Mathematics, Economics or a related field is essential.
The ideal candidate should be able to display an interest in technology and how it applies to financial services.
The successful candidate should ideally have experience in Financial Services Compliance, within a surveillance team coupled with a good understanding of financial markets, products and services.
Experience working in a complex work environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
A resourceful self-starter with an ability to overcome obstacles.
Demonstrated high level of initiative and analytical skills.
