The role
Our client is a European asset manager with approximately $900 million in asset under management, a significant network of continental offices and a diversified range of strategies, including institutional asset management, hedge funds, private equity/private credit and real-estate investments.

Job Description
To advise the business and senior management on all applicable regulatory obligations, including regulatory developments and on the procedures required to ensure compliance with these obligations.
Build and maintain constructive relationships with our core regulators and provide effective liaison between the client in Europe and its regulator.
Design a comprehensive monitoring programme covering all aspects of the business and its branches to check that business continues to be conducted in compliance with all relevant regulation and that any breaches are remediated promptly.
To assist 1st line management in ensuring that they establish and maintains effective systems and controls to minimise the risk of regulatory losses, and or negative customer outcomes.
To act as LCO & MLRO for Amsterdam.
Perform AML risk assessments of existing and potential clients and make recommendations to management
To advise the business in relation to any proposed new business initiatives that have regulatory or customer considerations.
To report and attend the local Governance and Risk Committee and Audit Committee.
Ensure effective implementation of all new compliance policies.
Provide training to line management and employees as required ensuring that each individual is made aware of their regulatory responsibilities and the procedures they must follow to ensure compliance with these and to promote a positive compliance culture.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have extensive experience in a leadership role within a buy-side Compliance Department in a European jurisdiction.
Dutch regulatory experience would be an advantage but not essential.
